Community Farmers Market (CFM) is a non-profit, year-round, producer-only farmers market, dedicated to connecting local producers to local consumers through outreach efforts to make local food more affordable, accessible, and approachable for everyone.
In an effort to make fresh local food more affordable for low-income families, Community Farmers Market was the first in the state of Kentucky to implement a Double Dollars program in which WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition vouchers, and SNAP/EBT benefits were doubled each and every market day. Now participating in the state-wide Kentucky Double Dollars Program, CFM doubles SNAP/EBT benefits (and P-EBT benefits!) up to $20 each Market, doubles WKU Big Red Dollars up to $5 each Market, and doubles the value of WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers. Not only does it increase the purchasing power of those benefits, but also makes those benefits available to support our local farmers and farming economy.
Unfortunately, our long-time funder and collaborator, Community Farm Alliance (CFA), was recently informed that their organization was not awarded grant funding for the Kentucky Double Dollars program, and our market no longer has funding to continue issuing Double Dollars vouchers throughout the first months of 2023. We are relying on private donations from community members like you to continue offering this important program throughout the coming months.
Would you be willing to make a tax-deductible donation to our outreach-driven organization? Thank you in advance for your generous response to our Community’s need!
